Senior Laravel and DevOps developer: applications that hold up in production
Since 2011, I have been designing and evolving web applications, from the code to the infrastructure. I work on high-traffic Laravel applications: APIs, asynchronous processing, multi-tenancy, third-party integrations, database performance and continuous delivery.
An application doesn't end at the last commit.
What I do
- Building and taking over Laravel applications
- New features, version upgrades, technical debt, tests.
- APIs and integrations
- REST APIs, token authentication, rate limiting, connectors to third-party software (ATS, payroll, document management…).
- Performance
- Slow SQL queries, indexes, execution plans, queues, caching, large exports.
- AWS
- EC2, Aurora/RDS, RDS Proxy, S3, CloudFront, WAF, autoscaling, cost control.
- CI/CD and containers
- GitLab CI, autoscaled runners, Docker, staging and pre-production environments.
- Observability and incidents
- Datadog, Sentry, Oh Dear, Prometheus, Grafana: from metric to diagnosis to fix.
- Website builds and modernisation
- Fast, well-indexed websites, hosting and maintenance, as for Blue Margouillat for more than 10 years.
Examples
-

FAQ
Can you take over an existing Laravel application?
Yes: a review of the code, dependencies and infrastructure, then a prioritised improvement plan, without rewriting everything.
My application slows down under load. What now?
We start from measurements: slow queries, execution plans, queues, caching, rate limits. The most cost-effective fixes come first.
Do you work with existing teams?
Yes, both as reinforcement for a product team and on my own: code reviews, CI/CD, documentation and knowledge transfer.
Do you also build websites?
Yes, when they need reliability and good search visibility: design, hosting and long-term maintenance.
Got a project in mind?
